Ben & Jerry’s Introduce “Anchorman” Inspired Ice Cream “Scotchy Scotch Scotch”
“I love scotch. Scotchy, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly…”— Ron Burgundy, Anchorman
It seems only yesterday that San Diego’s own Ron Burgundy stopped by The Conan O’Brien Show to announce that he and the Action 4 News team would be returning to the airwaves. (It was actually March 28, 2012, but that’s beside the point.)
Today, the legend continues to grow. To coincide with the release of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is releasing a special batch of ice cream named after Ron Burgundy’s favorite alcoholic beverage — Scotchy Scotch Scotch.
Unfortunately, the tarty treat will not contain any alcohol. (Drats!) Instead, Ron stans will just have to contend with the next best thing: butterscotch and butterscotch swirls.
The special flavor goes on sale Wednesday at participating Ben & Jerry’s locations. To find a location near you, visit the Ron Burgundy locator on the company’s official website.
Ben & Jerry’s is well-known for releasing ice cream flavors tied to pop culture events. The company previously sold Stephen Colbert’s AmeriCone Dream and a 30 Rock-inspired Liz Lemon Frozen Yogurt.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues opens in theaters Dec. 20.
