Posh ‘N Becks have been cordially invited to a royal wedding — at least that’s the story Britain’s Mirror is telling.
English-born soccer ace David Beckham and his fashionable wife Victoria are among the notable guests invited to the nups of Prince William and Kate Middleton, set at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29, 2011, the tabloid reported on Sunday. The famous couple will join other celebrity elite such as British singers Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney at the most-anticipated royal wedding to hit Europe since Prince Charles made Princess Diana the “People’s Princess” in a lavish ceremony that captivated royal watchers in 1981.
“David texted Wills as soon as he heard, and Wills told him an invite was on its way. David and Victoria were both thrilled and can’t wait,” a royal source spilled over the weekend.
Prince Harry, 26, will stand up in support of big brother as Best Man at next spring’s wedding. Kate’s younger sister, Pippa, 27, is ready to assume the role of Maid of Honor. William isn’t technically a Head of State yet, so he’s not required to invite foreign dignitaries, but royal insiders say the guest list will definitely be filled with VIPs from around the world. Of course, the official guest list detailing how many other famous people will be attending the royal wedding likely won’t be announced until the end of February.
“They’re thinking carefully about which charities to invite, but they have pretty much decided on the friends they want there,” adds The Mirror source. “Because they do mix with celebrities, there will be quite a few there. It’s the hottest ticket in town. There won’t be many saying ‘Sorry, we’re busy that day.'”
