I am sorry, sorry for poor Angie. She might not (or might) be racist, but she also is NOT the greatest thinker in the world. Dear Angie, I am not sure what you mean about Ms. Palin “having the courage” to do something. Let’s ALL admit it: She got in over her head, called herself a bulldog with lipstick, was unable to back out till it was too late and was forced by your people & her own lack of knowledge to eat her own words (if she could only have found them when Katie was interviewing her). Please note, it was NOT Mr. Obama, his wife (a really intelligent woman if you must reference one), Oprah, any other black person or any Democrat who threw Sarah Palin under the bus (so to speak). It was her friends like you in the Republican Party who knew this poor woman was incapable and unprepared and who still KNOW it. Ask any of the really intelligent, truly experienced women Republican Governors (you can do it in secret) and see if they share your views about Ms. Palin’s “experience”, integrity, courage, etc. (Remember, she was the one who behaved badly, showed barely veiled disgust/ contempt for “washington insiders” but the minute they had the infamous “roast” she did not think to do the “courageous” thing and absent herself, she did the “honorable” thing, absented herself from your people under false pretenses and turned up at that Obama Roast with the same Washington insiders that she did not want to be a part of.
2 Questions might bring you the right answers: Do other Republican women think someone who is not even aware of the STATES of Africa should be the leader of America. (2) Would they be comfortable having Ms. Palin’s finger on the much touted “button”;
As an optional 3rd question, ask them if THEY or even MS. Palin HERSELF, knows what SHE stands for (other than that she likes “maverics”). I am glad YOU know. Angie my Darling, get over yourself. Thou protesteth way way TOO much and art showing thy colors. We don’t believe you. Don’t expect President Obama to come with a magic wand and clean up the mess that your people (Mr. Bush & co) made in Washington & Wall Street & the subsequent chaos ALL over the world while the “capable”, “experienced”, McCain, Palin & all the others who benefited stood by. And by the way, where the hell were you while the America you care so much about was being ripped off by those “with experience”. Where was your soap box then. Only your heart will tell you if your are a racist. Your words say that at the very least you are a hypocrite.

Who called Angie Harmon a racist, and what did she say that caused them to do so?

The fact is, some criticism of Obama is racially motivated. And, some of the response to criticism of Obama alleges racism where there isn’t any. Neither “racial” response represents most critics/supporters of Obama.

In my opinion, Angie is generalizing about a whole group of people (Obama supporters) based on the actions of a few of them. And isn’t that the same behavior we find so distasteful in racists –whatever color or race they are?

It’d be a far better thing if Angie provided concrete examples of her being called a racist (what she said, who responded, what they said, …), rather than this vague suggestion that “if you say anything against [Obama] you’re called a racist”.

Her accusation is not backed up by the facts, and as such, it only serves to divide the American people.

This country has the legacy of institutionalized racism woven into every fiber of our society, just live red thread is woven into the stars and stripes. The interesting thing about Angie Harmon’s statements is that it exposes how tightly intertwined that racist thread is woven. If you snip out that thread, it is possible that the flag as we know it will completely unravel. Therein lies the fear of those in protests too loudly that they are not “racists”.

Angie, honey, you may not wear the label “racist” on your lapel. But, break the denial that still is written all over your protests. At the root of the last election, is that racist thread. It may be more clearly identified on the Republican opposition of a presidency that is only 3 months old, but it is there on the Democratic, too.

As our president has often said, “There are not red states and blue states …” Admitting that racism is still a part of our national identity (and our politics, economics, etc.) is the first step in becoming the “United” States of America.

First, Palin is not more experienced than Obama. She has governed Alaska, sure, but that cannot be compaared to running the whole country. Second, the world is different now, and a conservative president would only further alienate the US from the rest of the world.

I’m not sayin it’s wrong to disagree with your president, but he won the election. I personally think Obama was the better candidate. Washington needed someone new, and Obama fit the part. I also think it’s good that Obama does talk shows and such. It shows him to be a regular guy. Not some snob that you never see outside press conferences.

Yes, Obama promised change, but change takes time. You can’t expect Obama to fix it within the first two months! But I’m 100 percent sure he will do a good job getting the country out of the bad economy.

I applaud her for speaking her mind, but some things she said bothered me. It’s ok to disagree with Obama, but she can’t possibly expect him to have solved all the world’s problems in almost 3 months.I know that she is a proud Republican, but where was all this anger during the past 8 years? Bush did some pretty crappy things during his two terms, and not once did she say anything.

I find it funny how so many people said it was unpatriotic for everyone to be so harsh on Bush, but now those same people are saying that Obama should be impeached. And then she defends Palin who was one of the biggest hypocrites during the election.
