Barack Obama has backtracked on a public pledge he made earlier this month that vowed to keep the press away from his daughters.

Despite raised eyebrows and harsh backlash for allowing his daughters, Maia, 10, and Sasha, 7, to be interviewed on a television newsmagazine, the Democratic presidential nominee for President has invited People into the family’s Chicago home for the mag’s August 4 issue, on newsstands Friday.
