Barack Obama Nancy Reagan “Séances” Comment
President-Elect Barack Obama has called former First Lady Nancy Reagan to voice his regret over making a “careless and off handed remark” about her during his first press conference since winning the U.S. presidency in Tuesday’s election, Politico reports.
At yesterday’s press conference, a reporter asked Obama if he’d talked to all the “living” presidents, and Obama replied, “I have spoken to all of them who are living,” adding: “I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances.”
According to former White House chief of staff Donald T. Regan, Mrs. Reagan, who is now 87, frequently consulted with astrologers when making scheduling plans during her husband’s presidency.
