Banana Republic “Mad Men” Clothing Line

The racks of Banana Republic will soon be stocked with 65 Mad Men-branded items of clothing and accessories as part of a capsule collection set to go on sale in stores and via this August, The New York Times reported on Wednesday.

The line is comprised of suits, dresses, ties, sweaters, hats, skirts, coats and blouses influenced by the Emmy-winning drama, which is set in the 1960s. Janie Bryant, the award-winning costume designer for the AMC show, worked closely with Banana Republic’s creative director to create a product that matches the price point and sensibility of the retailer’s other offerings.

“The collection will be promoted in print, outdoor and online advertising; through direct mail; in stores; and through social media,” The Times writes. “For instance, fans of Banana Republic on Facebook are to get early access to a presale of the collection on Aug. 10, a day before it is scheduled to be available in stores and on the Banana Republic Web site.”

After a contract dispute stalled the start of the show’s fifth season, Mad Men will return to the tube with all new episodes early next year.
