Backstreet Boys’ Brian Littrell Swine Flu!
Swine Flu Hits The Backstreet Boys: The Backstreet Boys have forced to cancel a series of scheduled appearance in New York this week — including a performance on The Early Show Tuesday and a guest spot at NYC PINKTOBER at the Hard Rock CafĂ© –after member Brian Littrell was recently diagnosed with swine flu.
Yikes!
According to a statement released Monday, fellow BSB members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean, as well as the band’s traveling entourage, have all met with a doctor and are not currently showing any symptoms of the highly contagious flu, known as H1N1. However, doctors have prescribed Tamiflu to the group and their touring party as a preventive measure.
An upcoming appearance on Ellen has also been scrapped.
The news was announced via the band’s website — on it, Brian writes: “We were really looking forward to spending time with our closest fans and friends in NYC and take part of PINKTOBER, an unbelievable and important program. I hope we can come back soon and do everything we can to help.”
In 1998, the 34-year-old singer underwent open-heart surgery to correct a lifelong heart murmur. Poor guy — get well son, Brian!
Backstreet’s new album THIS IS US drops Tuesday.
