Avatar will hit DVD shelves on April 22, the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.

Sorry, movie buffs, but unlike most DVDs, this one will not include any bonus features. And there will be none of those neat 3D effects that won the box office blockbuster Oscars for Best Cinematography, Visual Effects, and Art Direction at last week’s 82nd annual Academy Awards. Just the movie, in 2D.

James Cameron’s Avatar, which picked up $2.6 billion in ticket sales at the international box office, is the highest-grossing film in cinema history.
