Yes….you read that correctly!
Austrian, Felix Baumgartner, has jumped from a balloon in space, hoping to become the first human to break the sound barrier, unaided. The 26-year old, stepped out of his small compartment and free fall more than 24 miles back to Earth. He now holds the world record for the longest jump, as he free-fell for over 4:00 minutes.
Felix reached record speeds of over 700 miles per hour during his decent. Felix landed in Roswell, New Mexico after the jump. The jump will also help aid scientists in escape plans for pilots and space tourists.
Congrats to Felix and the Red Bull team.
