Bush was going to be put down no matter what decision he chose to do on 09/11/01. If he would have been a coward like Clinton then he would have been criticised. Then he chose to fight and they put him down. He could have just dropped an atomic bomb on them and let the effects continue like in Japan. I hope Bush realized that overall he did a pretty good job.

Ashton made a very good point.
If you really think Bush is solely responsible for this financial problem, you are living a lala land. You give the rest of the good/reasonable/smart democrats like Ashton a bad name.
The booing shows nothing more to me than a lot of democrats have no patriotism, no respect for a man who served us for 8 years, and no common sense. When Jimmy Carter ran this country into a bigger hole than we're in now(we had double digit unemployment and inflation), you didn't see republicans booing him when Reagan was being inaugurated. Booing the president of your country shows how pathetic of a person you are.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Ashton was right. President Bush was presented an undeniably difficult situation after 9/11. His decisions were based on what he was presented by the intelligence community and the threat that was publicly known. He could have decided to wait and see if Al-Qaida and other radical muslims would attack us again, or if they would go away and leave us alone. I think anyone with any measure of intelligence would have to agree that they were not going to go away. They had been consistent in their attacks since the Marine barracks in Lebanon were bombed.

I'm glad we had a President that was willing to make hard choices and bear the brunt of the mainstream media whining without flinching. I haven't agreed some of the domestic decisions he made, but they were his call; he earned the right by being elected. Blaming him for someone losing their job, or for the price of oil, or the banks collapsing is. Economies go through cycles and so do societies. Economically we had it pretty good under GW's leadership for 6 out of 8 years. A lot of our past presidents would have liked to have had those results.

Best wishes and good fortune to him and his family. I know that my family is grateful for his service and look forward to President Obama proving himself worthy of our trust.

This article reminds me that we have come so far in so little time. Obama is an inspiring leader and I was grateful to be present at his inauguration. I have seen a lot of comments stating that as Americans people should not have booed Bush. I think that they have forgotten what it means to be Americans. I practice dissent were I believe it is needed. There is no doubt that Bush has broken the law and betrayed the trust of the country on many occasions. Look no further than the justice department for evidence of this. I am enclosing a link to the footage I took of Bush being booed at Obama's innauguration. People look like they are just ready for Bush to go and I feel as they do. Bush Booed During Inauguration Link

Cheers,

Bush was not responsible for all of the problems America is facing. Lets see if obama can bring what he promised. CHANGE! He already started on that by shutting down guantanamo bay, which I think is a stupid move. Also all the dumb liberals in Washington are also to blame because they really didn't get much done in the time they were in Washington. Is Bush the blame for the ression in Europe and everywhere else also? I think that in a few years Bush will not be so talked bad about. He will quit being talked about like Bill when he slept around. Finally whatever happens the next four years are on Obama and the rest of the liberals who control Washington because they are running the show.

I said he was largely responsible-not entirely responsible.

If you're in charge of something and really bad things start happening on your watch, you don't get to pass the buck without taking a hit yourself.
