Ashton Kutcher is the new assistant coach for the freshman football team at the Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles.

The 30-year-old professional prankster tossed around the pigskin himself as a high school student in Iowa and was inspired to return to the field by his love of the game.

Audrius Bardzukas is Head of Athletics at Harvard-Westlake. He says like any other candidate, Ashton was interviewed for the job.

“I asked him why he wanted to coach. He said he’s a dad, he has three daughters, and none of them are into sports. He loves football, and he said he’d always wanted to coach,” Coach Barzdukas told PEOPLE.
