Are Shocked Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr Have Split?
After just over three years of marriage, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have “formalized their separation.”
In a joint statement issued Friday, the Pirates of the Caribbean star and his catwalker wife announced that they’ve been “amicably separated for the past few months.”
“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they love, support and respect each other as both parents of their son and as family.”
Bloom, 36, and Kerr, 30, have been a couple since 2007. They were married in July 2010 after announcing their engagement only a month prior. The pair have one son, Flynn Bloom, who was born on Jan. 6, 2011.
News of the breakup may not come as a total surprise for the most dogged Goss Gawkers, there’s been rumors abound romantically-linking Bloom to actress Condola Rashad. Rashad — daughter of Cosby mom Phylicia Rashad and sports commentator Ahmad Rashad — is his co-star in the Broadway production Romeo and Juliet.
But it’s been a year of splits for Kerr, who hung up her Victoria’s Secret Angel Wings earlier this year. In June, the Australian-born supermodel shared her “traditional” views of marriage, telling The Edit magazine:
“I think it is really important not to feel as a woman that you have to do and be everything. If you’re really an alpha female, you don’t allow [your partner] to have the space to feel like the man in the relationship. Maybe I am too traditional, but men feel important when you ask for their help, instead of thinking you can do it all on your own.”
