Pharrell’s famous hat sold on eBay for a surprising $44,100. Can you believe highest bidder honors went to fast food chain Arby’s?
We suppose it isn’t that big of a surprise. After all, the oversized Vivienne Westwood original shares more than a passing resemblance with the Arby’s logo.
Proceeds from the sale of the hat will benefit From One Hand to Another, a charity that introduces children to technology and the arts.
Williams’ hat became an overnight sensation when the “Happy” hitmaker donned it at the Jan. 26 Grammy Awards. The dud prompted Arby’s bosses to playfully tweet Williams
“Can we have our hat back?”
In a tweet on Sunday, Arby’s said:
“We’re HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back.”
We doubt anyone will be dusting off their debit card to bid on Pharrell’s Oscar’s ensemble. The tuxedo/short set the superproducer wore to Sunday’s star-studded ceremony landed him spot on several of this year’s Worst-Dressed Lists.
