He’s back: YouTube sensation Antoine Dodson — of “Bed Intruder” fame — made his live debut on Tuesday’s telecast of the BET Hip Hop Awards, red bandana and all.
The Huntsville, Alabama native became a web celeb when his animated interview with an Alabama news crew following the attempted rape of his sister was turned into a catchy song by a pair of Brooklyn composers, The Gregory Brothers.
Accompanied by Michael Gregory, Dodson performed an abbreviated version of his Auto-Tuned interview, much to the glee of hip-hopsters in the ATL — who smacked their hands and laughed as Dodson crooned.
So far, “The Bed Intruder Song” has garnered over 31 million views on YouTube and sold more than 100,000 downloads on iTunes, where it’s reached No. 3 on the R&B chart, leading it to the 89th slot on the Billboard Hot 100.
