The “spontaneous” post wedding moment of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian sharing their first smooch as Mr. and Mrs. Biggest Ego in Hip-Hop quickly became the most liked snap in Instagram history.
Ever the perfectionist, spontaneity and Kanye West sorta go together like eggs and tuna. Not so appetizing. So, it should hardly come as a surprise that it took the newlyweds approximately four days of what should have been baby-making honeymoon time to capture the perfect kiss on camera.
And, according to Yeezy anyway, it’s all Annie Leibovitz’s fault.
The famed shutterbug stepped behind the camera for Kim and Kanye’s much criticized Vogue magazine cover, but backed out of shooting the couple’s May wedding in Florence after developing reservations about completing the job. Annie abruptly backed out as the official wedding day snapper just 24 hours before the hip-hopster and the professional socialite were to be joined in holy matrimony.
More like holy macaroni.
The “Bound 2” rapper made the revelation during a Cannes Lions Creativity Conference seminar on Tuesday. Never one to mince words, West accused Leibovitz of being ill-equipped to handle celebrity. (We are talking about the same woman who was snapping John Lennon and Yoko Ono when Kanye was still in diapers, no?)
Kim, 33, was so peeved that she insisted on getting the kiss flick re-shot over several days until it was perfect. Kanye explained:
“Let me tell you something about that kiss photo that my girl put up…this was pissing my girl off during the honeymoon, she was exhausted because we worked on the photo so much because Annie Leibovitz pulled out right before the wedding. I think that she was, like, scared of the idea of celebrity.”
Or maybe there was no open bar?
