Angels outfielder, Torii Hunter, is taking a leave of absence from his place with the LA Angels, after his 17-year old son was arrested earlier this week.
Darius McClinton-Hunter, was arrested in Texas, on second-degree sexual assault charges. According to an attorney for Darius, the young man pleaded not guilty and posted $15,000 bond. For the time being, Torii has been placed on restrictive leave from the team. He is available to come back at anytime but it also protects the team, not leaving them short-handed in Hunter’s absence.
Torii tweeted yesterday saying, “This is very tough for a father. Thanks for ur prayers and support. Be Blessed everyone!”
Hunter’s teammates were supportive of their pal, saying they wish him a well and that “family comes first.”
