Angelina Jolie’s Mother Dead at Fifty-Six

Actress Marcheline Bertrand, mother of actress Angelina Jolie, has died after a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer-she was fifty-six.
Ms. Bertrand died on Saturday at a Los Angeles area hospital, Angelina, Brad and her brother James Haven were there.
“Angelina looked very distraught,” a source told OK! Magazine. “You could tell she had been crying. Brad was trying to comfort her.”
Angie was close to her mother, the pair spent last March traveling around France together as Brangelina awaited the birth of their daughter Shiloh.
Angelina spoke about her mother’s condition on CNN’s Larry King in December. Marcheline was “doing good” at the time, she said. “She has fought for six years and she’s a remarkable woman, she’s very, very strong and her spirit remains unbroken.”
Donations may be sent to the Women’s Cancer Research Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in lieu of flowers.
