Hollywood bombshells Angelina Jolie and Megan Fox are going head-to-head for one of the steamiest film roles in movie history.

Multi-tasking mama Angelina will go up against the twentysomething Transformers babe for the role of Barbarella in a remake of the 1968 sci-fi classic that made an international sex symbol of screen legend Jane Fonda, Daily Star snitches report.

Veteran producer Dino De Laurentiis, 90, produces the original film and believes only Angelina, 34, or Megan, 23, can guarantee that the proposed $150 million project will become a monster hit and was instrumental in courting both women for the role, studio insiders say.

“This will be the first time Angie and Megan have ever faced off for the same role. Whoever gets the part will become the absolute number one Hollywood sex symbol on the planet.”

remember that this was Jane Fonda in the title role (”Cat Ballou”, the daughter of Henry Fonda), so that was news; a lead role Fonda played that helped get her cast as Barbarella was “Cat Ballou”, and neither Megan Fox nor Angelina Jolie has EVER come close to generating that much star power or worked on a film classic like “Cat….” was.

let me show you something; director Duncan Jones (David Bowie’s firstborn son ) made the original indie “Moon” picture (with Sam Rockwell) that did very well at small theater showings early this year, and it wasn’t a remake or a rip-off… i would have given a small tooth to see it.
