Angelina Jolie, Cleopatra?
We hear Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is set to play Cleopatra in an upcoming biopic based on Cleopatra: A Life, a biography by Stacy Schiff. Producer Scott Rudin says the film is “being developed for and with Jolie.”
What do you think of this casting, Crunchers?
The Changeling star recently wrapped filming on The Tourist with Johnny Depp. Jolie next stars in Salt, a spy thriller about a rogue CIA operative, hitting theaters July 23.

Instead of complaining about the insane cast of this movie that will flop unless, those in power decide to hire the proper actors and actress to make the movie more Factual verses Fictional. This is my resolution to resolving this hillarious casting issue. Which will generate a broad audience spectrum from Black, Hispanic,Italian/white(s) to attend this movie. THE END!

Whatever the truth, Jolie is not a good pick. Get someone Greek or Egyptian at least.
And black people don’t pull race into everything. But as long as minorities (and not just blacks) are ignored, then it needs to be pulled in. (Speaking as a white person.)

Macedon was north of Greece. Like the others said, they would have been lighter skinned.
And yes, it is almost certain there was no such mixing, because the Ptolemies inbred, a lot. Almost exclusively in the later years. And when they didn’t, chances are they took a bride from the Seleucid royal family, who also would have been Macedonian.

She wasn’t either. She was Macedonian by birth and blood. Her father was in Rome for about a year, true, but he was still the child of a Macedonian Ptolemaic king, presumably with an unknown concubine. She was of a Hellenistic dynasty, but there was no Roman blood in her, and if there was any Egyptian at all, it was miniscule.
