New mom Angelina Jolie is being interested in playing Batman’s nemesis Catwoman in an upcoming sequel to The Dark Knight, says the actress who made the feline vixen famous on the 60s TV series Batman.

“Angelina would own the part,” 74-year-old actress Julie Newmar told the New York Daily News on Sunday.

“My industry friends tell me she has made enquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman’s one true love.”

“When you look at the staggering box office of this current film, which actress wouldn’t want to jump at it?”

Michelle Pfeiffer took on the role of Catwoman in 1992, while Halle Berry won a Worst Actress Razzie for her performance in the 2004 box office stinker of the same name.
