Andy Richter “The Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien” Sidekick
Conan O’Brien will be joined by a familiar face when he takes over as host of The Tonight Show on June 1.
Andy Richter will fill the role once held by Ed McMahon, serving as the announcer/sidekick for the show when Conan O’Brien takes over the reigns from Jay Leno.
He will also participate in both live and pre-taped comedy bits.
Andy, as you may recall, served as a sidekick to Conan on the Late Night between 1993 and 2000, when he left the show to focus on acting.
“Andy is one of the funniest people I know, and we’ve maintained a close friendship since he left ‘Late Night,’” Conan said in a press release Tuesday. “We have a proven chemistry that will be an incredible asset to The Tonight Show.”
