Amy Winehouse Not Guilty Of Assaulting Fan
Amy Winehouse has been cleared of punching a dancer outside a charity ball in London last September 26.
Burlesque dancer Sherene Flash claimed the 25-year-old Grammy winner punched her in the right eye after she asked for a photograph while backstage at the Prince’s Trust Ball in Berkeley Square.
After deliberating for less than 24 hours, District Judge Timothy Workman dismissed the case against Winehouse on Friday, citing lack of evidence.
“Having heard the evidence from all the witnesses, I cannot be sure that this was not an accident. The charge is dismissed and the defendant discharged,” he said.
“I’m relieved. I’m going home,” Amy said as she left the court.
