Amy Winehouse is set to join Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears as the latest entertainment sensation to launch her own celebrity fragrance.

At the insistence of her dad Mitch, the recently-divorced “Rehab” singer is hoping to land a deal worth more than $1 million that will see her launching a fragrance under her name.

A source tells The Daily Star, “Mitch is keen to license Amy’s name to a perfume house. He has been in talks with manufacturers and contacted PR firms for advice. They want it to reflect her style with a classic smoky 1950s look and smell. Amy is keen to expand her brand and wants to latch on to the celeb perfumes bandwagon while she can.”

However, fashion insiders aren’t so sure about working with the notoriously-troubled hitmaker. Amy is regularly photographed looking out of sorts and expets fear shoppers will be discouraged from purchasing the product because of her appearance.

“Frankly, she doesn’t look like she smells that nice, so doing some positive publicity to prove it doesn’t just smell of stale alcohol and cigarettes would be vital,” said one spy.

Earlier this year, the five-time Grammy Award winner unveiled plans to introduce a children’s book and clothing line.

    I don’t see how they think a perfume that stinks of three day old sweat and hashish will market well, but people liked the White Diamonds scent, too.
