Amy Winehouse sat down with Blender Magazine for her first interview in months-and the reportedly drug-addicted star fell asleep mid-sentences several times throughout the chatfest.

“Oh, God, what is wrong with me?” she asks, coming to. “There’s something wrong with me … “

After a few more questions, she nodded off again.

“I’m just really drowsy at the moment,” she says. “I’m so sorry.”

The interview is rescheduled – and Amy falls asleep mid-sentence again, making it at least three times.

“I’m really, really sorry. From the bottom of my heart.”

Interviewer Jody Rosen says the singer “has never exactly been a picture of health, but tonight she looks especially worse for wear: hunched, heavy-lidded and frail.”

“Now her words are slurred, her eyelids drooping,” Jody continues.

“Her head wobbles into a nod. She falls asleep for a second, wakes with a start, mutters and drops off again. The smoldering cigarette in her left hand falls to the floor.”

Throughout, Amy mumbled and found it hard to talk.

Jody writes: “….She’s gone, words trailing off, eyelids fluttering, falling asleep mid-sentence.”

During the interview conducted in early October, Amy insisted she was not doing hard drugs, insisting: “I don’t have time.” The star claims the only drugs she is taking are “for my depression, prescriptive stuff.”

When asked if she was an alcoholic, she admitted: “I don’t know.”

“I’m a really big drinker,” she continued. “I used to be there before the pub opened, banging on the door.”

Amy’s manager Raye Cosbert tells Blender that there is nothing wrong with the Rehab hitmaker:

Raye claims: Amy “takes prescription medication, which makes her drowsy.” “That’s between Amy and her physician.”
