Amy Winehouse Allowed To Tour America
Amy Winehouse is in the process of obtaining a work visa that will allow her to tour the United States two years after being banned from entering the nation due to pending criminal charges.
“There is nothing to stop her getting a visa to travel to America,” a rep for the trouble-prone Winehouse said in a statement Thursday. “”Back to Black” was the second biggest-selling album in the world last year and she never had the chance to tour there, so it’’s on the cards,” the spokesperson added.
A bust on possession of marijuana and an alleged assault kept Amy away from the 2008 Grammy Awards, where she won five coveted prizes. Friends say the star is looking forward to making the absence up to her devoted fans.
“Amy loves the idea of jetting off to America. She really wants to go to the States and play some shows,” a friend of the “Rehab” hitmaker told The Sun this week. “She knows she has a huge fan base there and would love to boost her profile further and give something back to all the people who buy her records.”
