A tell-all book about the behind-the-scenes drama on television’s most popular talent competition is being shopped to interested publishers. According to a scoop from celebrity spy Janet Charlton, an American Idol exposé has been penned by an unidentified former staffer and promises to reveal secrets that producers hoped would never get out.

“The former employee also says that some contestants are strong-armed into singing certain songs. Producers know that if a contestant sings a song that’s not well known or appropriate for their style, they’re more likely to be voted off, so essentially they can control the voting process,” Janet wrote on Thursday.

The book also reveals more craziness about loopy judge panelist Paula Abdul. “Allegedly she travels with ‘two gallon size ziplock bags full of orange prescription bottles.’ And that’s just the beginning,” Janet added.
