Lakisha is gone. I was sorry to see her go, but I do believe it was her time. Now we’re down to three, and I really like all of them. These are the kind of results that make for boring Idol blogging. When I started at Pop Crunch, I made it clear that one reason I blog about Idol is because I like to make fun of people. There’s no one left to REALLY make fun of. Last season was priceless, with troll boy Elliott hanging on to the very end. Even after it was down to Taylor and Katherine it was fun to snicker about the McBoobies.

But this season, they’re all good. So I guess I’ll have to bank on Blake’s outfits and/or hair, and even turn to the celebrity guests. Speaking of making fun of celebrity guests, did anyone else notice the ball-huggers Barry Gibb had on last night? Holy crapoli, those were some tight pants. No wonder he can sing so high-pitched, those pants were squeezing the life out of his nutsack.

Anyway, before Barry performed Pink sang “Who Knew,” and she was great, looked amazing. Not sure what the relevance to the Bee Gees night was, but it was entertaining. And she’s got the coolest, craziest looking band.

They did that whole “learn a little more about the Idols” thing, asking random questions and flashing baby pics. Melinda, Blake, and Lakisha are all only children. Jordin’s got a little brother. Blake smiled funny. Melinda’s dad liked bell-bottoms. Lakisha had a baby fro. There were all very cute kids.

We also got a clue as to what the producers’ Next Big Thing is gonna be. They’re searching for a whole band this time. Currently titled, the Band Show, they wanna see bands of all ages, all genres, and all sounds compete for American Idol-esque fame and fortune. Should be interesting.
