American Idol is trying to save the sinking ship that it has become and they are hoping with this all-star panel they can turn their ratings around.
Idol already sealed the deal with Keith Urban to return and Jennifer Lopez will be making a return, after taking last season off. Now, jazz singer and actor, Harry Connick, Jr. has confirmed that he will be joining the cast. “I have always been a huge fan of American Idol and really enjoyed my time as a mentor on the show,” said Connick, whom The Hollywood Reporter last week confirmed would serve as a judge. “And I am honored that they’ve asked me to be a judge this season. As an entertainer, I am truly excited to bring my perspective to American Idol, and to help emerging performers find their way.”
American Idol originals, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest will also be back for the upcoming season.
