From Ugly Betty to Beautiful Bride -America Ferrera has announced her engagement to her longtime boyfriend, director Ryan Piers Williams.

The couple, both 26, met as students at the University of Southern California, falling in love after Ryan cast America as a lead in one of his student films. The actress was spotted sporting a sparkler on her ring finger while promoting her new film The Dry Land at the Edinburgh Film Festival in Scotland this week.

America ended a four-season stint as the quirky fashion assistant Betty Suarez on the ABC show Ugly Betty back in April
