Amazon Will Deliver Goods Directly To Your Car Trunk… In Germany
While Amazon drones may be a distant pipe dream, the company is testing a more practical approach in Germany. The large scale e-retailer is now delivering products directly to a customer’s car trunk.
The company uses a mobile-powered app feature that is currently being tested by Audi. The pilot program includes a partnership between Amazon Prime and DHL Parcel and is currently being tested in Munich, Germany.
Audi Connect Easy Delivery will allow Audi owners to give DHL a temporary access code to their trunk to allow the delivery person to deposit a package.
If the program is a success Amazon customers around the world could soon find their parcels waiting for them in the back of their Audi and perhaps other vehicles.
