Alfred Molina is joining the cast of Dick Wolf’s Law & Order: Los Angeles (LOLA) as Deputy DA Morales, series producers said Saturday.
The Frida star, 57, joins Skeet Ulrich, who will appear as a LAPD detective on the series which — like it predecessors highlights the work of the police and prosecutors. Molina also joins a list of outstanding character actors who have starred in Law & Order series, including Sam Waterson, Dianne Wiest, and Mariska Hargitay.
Molina’s other acting credits include Spiderman 2, An Education, and a guest stint on Law & Order: SVU.
Last spring, the original Law & Order ended a historic 20 season run and is tied with Gunsmoke for the title of longest-running dramatic series in the history of American television.
LOLA will air Wednesdays @ 10 PM ET/PT when it premieres on The Peacock Network in September.
