Alec Baldwin “Rock Of Ages” Movie Casting
From 30 Rock to Rock of Ages: Emmy-winner Alec Baldwin will join early castees Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, and Julianne Hough in the new movie musical Rock of Ages after nailing the part of the former rocker who runs the Rock of Ages Nightclub.
Former Dancing With The Stars personality Hough is in final negotiations to star as Sherrie, the small town girl who hits ’80s Hollywood in search of fame on the music scene and ends up catching the eye of aging rocker Stacee Jaxx, who will be played by Cruise.
“So, based on info I got today, I’m gonna confirm Alec Baldwin as Dennis in Rock Of Ages. Hollah,” excited lensman Adam Shankman Tweeted on Saturday, finally confirming a casting whisper that first surfaced shortly before the new year. “Can’t wait to start #rockofagesmovie. Julianne Hough, alec Baldwin, Mary j Blige, Tom cruise confirmed. I love my cast. More to come,” he later added.
Filming on the film adaptation of the Broadway favorite will begin May. Rock of Ages: The Movie is eyeing a Summer 2012 release.
