Akon, Common Britney Spears MTV Video Music Awards ‘Gimme More’ Performance Diss

Sarah Silverman and Kanye West aren’t the only celebs classifying Britney Spears’ 2007 MTV Video Music Awards opener as a wet noodle. Hip-hop heavyweights Akon and Common are chiming in on Brit’s first live performance of the previously well-received ‘Gimme More.’

“That could have been better. She needed to focus more. She looked nervous and I think the pressure got to her,” Akon told the media after Sunday night’s ceremony.

Common added, “I think it didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. There wasn’t any spark, it didn’t feel like life was there.”

Celebrity Cowboy serves up a bit of commentary on why in God’s Green Acres MTV would let Brit onstage in the first place. Did the network unleash a trainwreck in the name of ratings? Maybe we’ve all been Punk’d?

who the fuck gave her the ok to go on stage and make an utter skux of herself,she danced like she had an enema up her arse,and the lips-sync was off a chinese movie when the words and their lips look like theyre on friggin meth,don’t blame anyone but managers,lettin her think she can make a come back,come back from what for fucks sake,put her in rehab ahead of winehouse,and teach her some mothering skills.

If you have a good hair stylist then it won’t fall off. I mean look at Beyonce she shakes her head all the time and that wig never falls off.
Brit just needs to retire and STOP the madness!!!

the reason her dancing was so bad is cuz HER HEEL HAD BROKEN ON HER SHOE
you can see very clearly from some of the pictures that it had broken
obviously she wouldnt dance well as to not break her ankle
