A&E Jackson Family Reality Show On Hold

An A&E reality show featuring members of the Jackson family has been put on hold.
The series, tentatively titled The Jackson Family, followed former Jackson 5 members Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Randy as they prepped for a new album and tour, but the death of family superstar Michael Jackson has left the network deciding what to do with the footage.
“We have started discussing internally and with the family but have not yet decided what direction to take with the show,” A&E executives said in a statement Monday. “We are respecting the family’s wishes right now, and at the appropriate time we will all decide what direction this program to take, so stay tuned.”

I think that the death of a loved one is private. The world often times forgets that these are real people, with real grief who need time to deal with this on their own terms and time. If we just can remember to put ourselves in others’ shoes, we will learn humility, compassion and respect for one another and, not to just think about our own selfish desires. Also, I commend the family for sharing his death with us because they didn’t have to have a memorial service for everyone. They did that for Michael because they know he would have wanted his kids to see just how much others loved him and, that he loved his fans so much to give them some sort of closure. Kudos Jackson Family!
