Adrienne Frantz, “Y&R’s” Amber, Slams Eric Braeden’s Victor Newman Exit
Eric Braeden’s departure from The Young & The Restless has ignited plenty of debate between daytime fans here at PopCrunch. Eric’s exit was confirmed last week when the star revealed that after nearly 30 years on television’s most watched soap, her would be leaving the role of Victor Newman due to a contract dispute with show producers.
On Air On Soaps caught up with some of The Young and the Restless’ stars, including Kristoff St. John, Daniel Goddard, Sharon Case, and Adrienne Franz, at the World Magic Awards in L.A., where they spoke out on co-star Eric Braeden’s contract issues.
Adrienne’s response may surprise you!
“They are cutting contracts all around. I mean everybody has to bite the bullet. It’s not like anyone gets special treatment,” says the ballsy Frantz, who plays Amber Moore on Y&R. “If you don’t want to play fair with everyone, then don’t play. If you want to step out…. everybody is dealing with the same stuff,” Adrienne continued. “So if anybody thinks they are better than anyone else, then they should leave if they want to. It’s a cast. We are all working together. We are all working our hardest to make it go, and if you don’t want to work with everyone than you are not helping. “

I have been watching Y&R ever since it began almost 30 years ago. My husband and oldest son also are fans. We are all devastated that the Victor Newman character is leaving. He was the base of the whole soap. I don't think it will be as exciting without him. We are debating no longer watching. We think it is a major mistake and that most likely the ratings will go downhill. I agree completely with him that if they don't value his excellent acting ability more than just "flat lining" him at the end of an uneventful episode, that he should leave. What a disappointment!!

So come on Y&R producers don't make the biggest mistake ever and let Victor go…..work on making him stay!! Also, some of the script writing has deteriorated because of the many changes in staff during the past year. Hope this is a wake-up call to the directors/producers of "The Young and the Restless"!

What Adrienne fails to understand is that she is the reason the fast forward button was invented. Every single time I see her snobby little face on TV, I hit forward. She was the reason I stopped watching B&B and she will most likely be the reason I stop watching Y&R.
