Adam Levine showed up on Jimmy Kimmel Live Wednesday to formally accept a special honor: People magazine’s 2013 “Sexiest Man Alive.” The Maroon 5 frontman and Voice mentor joins a long, distinguished pantheon of sexiness — and he couldn’t be more proud.
Levine thanked previous title-holders (“George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, George Clooney, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and George Clooney, of course”) and his “incredibly sexy” parents in his tongue-in-cheek acceptance speech.
“A lot of people trivialize this sort of thing. They say it’s shallow and think it’s just a media stunt used to sell magazines and perpetuate the image of Hollywood being based on looks. And that’s totally true. But I’m completely cool with that.”
Adam also gave a special shoutout to Ryan Gosling “for turning this down constantly. That really helped my campaign.”
