Adam Lambert “Suburban Decay” For “Twilight Eclipse” Soundtrack
A song that didn’t quite make it on to Twi-Hard Adam Lambert’s hit debut album could be a perfect fit for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack.
The American Idol star penned the dark Rob Cavallo-produced single — dubbed “Suburban Decay” — for his For Your Entertainment LP, but the song had to be dropped from the final tracklisting. Now Adam is hoping Twilight bosses will be able to put it to good use.
“It just didn’t quite fit. It’s very theatrical… It’s very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture,” Adam explained in a chat with MTV News this week. “It’s a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something… maybe Twilight.”
He added: “Hey, Eclipse… Want my song? It’s kind of about vampires…. [It has the lyric], ‘With our bloodlust sated, we thrive on suburban decay’.”
Eclipse, the third film in the wildly-popular Twilight Saga, opens in June 2010. For Your Entertainment is available now.
