Adam Lambert’s debut album is going to arrive a little earlier than he expected.

While he works toward a fall release as part of his new deal with RCA Records, Hi Fi Recordings and Wilshire Records have announced the summer release of the American Idol runner-up’s On With The Show.

On With The Show, an album featuring tracks Adam recorded in 2007 and 2008, will be released later this summer, says The Associated Press. The disc’s lead single will be a song called “Want.”

However, the glam rock star says he iss not supporting the release of On With The Show, insisting that the LP does not reflect where he is musically.

“Back in 2005 when I was a struggling artist, I was hired as a studio singer to lend my vocals to tracks written by someone else. I was broke at the time and this was my chance to make a few bucks, so I jumped at the opportunity to record for my first time in a professional studio,” Adam said in a statement to Friday.

The statement continued, “The work I did back then in no way reflects the music I am currently in the studio working on. I’m thrilled to be working with some of today’s hottest songwriters and producers and can’t wait for people to hear what my music really sounds like.”
