Abercrombie & Fitch Sue Beyonce After Fragrance Foul-Up
Preppy retail giant Abercrombie & Fitch (A&F) and R&B songstress Beyonce may be heading to court in a trademark dispute over the star’s new perfume.
A&F filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court in Columbus, Ohio, on Wednesday to stop the platinum-selling singer from launching a perfume under the name of her sultry alter ego, Sasha Fierce, Women’s Wear Daily reported Wednesday.
Beyoncé filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in September 2008 for Sasha Fierce, but A&F says they began selling Fierce in 2002 and trademarked the fragrance in 2003.
It should be interesting to see how this one unfolds. We’ll keep you posted.
