Aaron Staton, ‘Mad Men’ Actor, Joins Showtime Drama ‘Ray Donovan’
Aaron Staton may not be known to everyone by name, but surely fans of Mad Men will know him by face. He has now been added to a growing list of cast members that will appear on the third season of Ray Donovan.
Ray Donovan is a drama on Showtime that has been critically acclaimed and also nominated for multiple Golden Globes. The show focuses on the title character portrayed by Liev Schrieber playing a Hollywood “fixer” who makes the problems of the rich go away, often using questionable tactics.
The cast for season 3 just keeps getting more exciting with other cast members already added including Katie Holmes and Ian McShane, both making their return to TV after years of being in films.
Aaron Staton has played Ken Cosgrove on Mad Men for the past seven seasons and will finally be branching out to a new project, hoping to gain even more fans. Mad Men will be concluding next month and allow for him to pursue other things, but it will be sad for everyone to say goodbye to Don Draper and company.
On Ray Donovan, Staton will play Mr. Donellen, a strict yet kind high school teacher with a tragedy in his past. Perhaps he will be someone who calls upon Ray for help, or maybe he will end up being Bridget’s new teacher, but one way or another, he will be having a big role in the show’s third season.
Over the course of season 2, Ray Donovan was truly tested as a protector and patriarch of the family when he lost control of family members, his father (Jon Voight), and the FBI, causing quite a scene to end the season last summer.
Ray Donovan continues to build up the suspense for the new season with characters being added and it was just announced that the third season would premiere on July 12th.
