Dyslexia was hard to detect with my son. He was so smart and verbal, but had trouble reading. His teachers said it would “all click.” It didn’t. By 5th grade hadn’t learned to read and write in school and his self esteem was low. I put him in a boarding school for dyslexic kids and he learned through a course call “Reconstructive Language” how to read and write. Now in 9th grade he is advancing in physics classes… what would have happened if I waited for the schools to figure it out?

i use to think that i was totally stupid being dyslexic . i literally gave up on my self and then i realized my strength’s and weaknesses and know i enjoy reading even if it takes me double the time to read a page, but know im getting high grades in writing and it never bothers me except when i cant find stuff and cant spell much.

my daughter (13) is dyslexic and thinks she is “thick”, her words not mine. This list has served to help her realise that she can be just as amazing as some of the people on your list.

Hook is an idiot for what he wrote…how rude…being dyslexic does not mean you are “retarded” ……it is a language processing disorder…just because one has trouble reading doesn’t automatically mean he/she is dyslexic….and dyslexics typically have a high IQ….very good problem solvers….Nelly you are rude as well… you both obviously do not know what dyslexia is…ignorance is bliss…..

Many great people i see who have dsylexia.
Even Einstein, Da vinci were dyslexians so its not a matter or intelectual difference.
Just a little neurological difference.
You dsylexians are so lucky..dont have to read books like the rest of us;)
