7 Hottest Female Comedians (Who Are Actually Funny)

Hot, funny woman. Many men – those with no sense of humour and even less taste in the fine points of the fairer sex – would argue it’s a contradiction in terms. “Ugg,” the conversation at a bar might begin. “Women can’t be hot and funny; dang, they can’t even be funny.” But such smug chauvinistic views would be quickly done away with by the cutting sarcasm, acerbic wit and bludgeoning expletives wielded by this roll call of comic geniuses. Oh, and did we mention they’re all smoking hot too. Imagine the stimulating conversation over dinner. You know what – we could skip dinner and get straight to desert.

Heather McDonald

Combining cougar looks with comic talent, Heather McDonald is best known for her appearances on the E! program, Chelsea Lately. The seasoned stand up comedienne, writer and actress was a key ingredient in MTV hit show, Lyricist Lounge, in 2001 and 2002, and has guest starred on Frasier and Malcom In The Middle among others. She’s also performed stand up at Harrahs’s in Vegas, on Comedy’s Central’s Make Me Laugh, and at every college and club in between – and her impressions of celebs like Sarah Palin, Celine Dion, Jennifer Aniston have drawn her almost as much laughter as her slender, curvy figure has wolf whistles. Almost. Married and a mother of three, McDonald isn’t available for admiring groupies, but no doubt figures in a few of their filthy fantasies.

Natasha Leggero

Man, Natasha Leggero is one bone fide hottie. Yessirree, and she can evoke more than a chuckle from her audiences too. This super gifted stand-up comic and character actress with a penchant for outrageous attire and even more outrageous skits has made guest appearances on various TV shows, including a couple of particularly uproarious slots on Reno 911! and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, where people from all margins of society have born the brunt of her satire – from a drunk driving ex-adult star and mayor’s wife, to cowgirl mother and daughters bickering over paying for a book at a checkout. A regular round table panelist on Chelsea Handler’s late-night talk show, Chelsea Lately, this is one girl who really puts paid to the idea that women can’t be funny. And by god she’s sexy.

Nadine Rajabi

A sexpot stand up who talks brazenly about “taking a shit”, the time she showed her tits to a guy she was sexting with, and “shark week” (work it out), Nadine Rajabi could more than walk the walk with drinking douchebags down the pub; she could take them to the cleaners. This sassy Iranian-American lassie has showcased her chops on Babelgum series Mass Debaters and is tipped for big things. She’s already a staple at many of America’s top comedy clubs; has had talking head roles on E! Entertainment; and can be heard on her nightly show on National Lampoon Comedy Radio, Nadine @ Nite – where the only downside is that audiences can’t see her celebrated assets. Allegedly a champion black belt and quality soccer player to boot, this buxom babe seems to have it all. And if her bedroom antics are as dirty as her mouth… well, say no more. Nadine Rajabi rocks.

Eliza Coupe

If this list were being compiled based on looks alone, Eliza Coupe might just take the cake, but disappointingly for this delicious blond we’re also considering comic talent, so she narrowly misses out on the top spot. Which isn’t to say she isn’t funny. Star of everyone’s favorite medical comedy, Scrubs – in which she plays Dr. Denise ‘Jo’ Mahoney – this mile-a-minute bombshell first busted her way into the limelight with her one-woman theater sketch show, The Patriots, which won her the Breakout Performer Award at HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in 2006. But it was actually a lack of opportunities to explore her funny side while touring in a tantalizing sounding all-female version of tragedy of tragedies, King Lear, that spurred her on to do something funny. Various TV and movie appearances followed, and her star looks set to continue rising in the 2010 ABC comedy, Happy Endings. Sounds interesting.

Ellie Kemper

Cute, perky and sexy all rolled into one, Ellen Kemper is like the goofy girl next door you wish you’d had – for behind that sweet, demure demeanor lies a naughtiness you’d love to unleash. Before landing the role of receptionist Erin Hannon in NBC’s The Office, the writer, actress and comedian made a name for herself doing comedy sketches on programs like Late Night with Conan O’Brien and E! Television’s The Gastineau Girls as well as in various one woman shows. Then there was that viral video: in 2007, Kemper rose to internet stardom in “Blowjob Girl”, which showed a two-minute close-up of our Ellen offering her boyfriend fellatio with the well meaning but slightly disconcerting bonus of biting and crushing his crown jewels – something she seems to think he’ll like. The vid has been viewed more than 17 million times on YouTube. Naughty but most definitely nice.

Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome

It’s a bit unfair to group these two hilarious honies together because they’re each so riotous in their own right. But it’s as a double act that pixy-like Kate Micucci and elven Riki Lindhome really come together to make sparks fly, and guys simultaneously guffaw and gawp. Better known to the world as comedy-folk duo Garfunkel and Oates, actress-songwriters Micucci and Lindhome look destined for great things on the back of ditties like “Pregnant Women Are Smug”, “Fuck You” and “Gay Boyfriend.” They’ve appeared several times on The Jay Leno Show, and as well as performing regularly together in LA have also toured and recorded. Each has a healthy list of TV and movie credits to their name, but as said it’s in tandem that we appreciate them most. Oh to be the baloney in this tasty sandwich.

Sarah Silverman

A no brainer. Rolling Stone declared her “the funniest woman alive”, The Observer hailed her “the world’s hottest, most controversial comedian” – and who can argue with them? Never afraid to walk the tightrope of taboos on topics like racism and religion, Sarah Silverman has ruled the comedienne roost for the best part of a decade. The girl who started out on Saturday Night Live before starring in her own ratings busting show, The Sarah Silverman Program, is loved (and loathed) for her ironic caricature of a bigoted Jewish-American princess. In 2007 she hosted the MTV Movie Awards, mocking the attending Paris Hilton about her looming jail term with a joke about bars painted to look like shlongs, and in 2008 sang the timeless “I’m Fucking Matt Damon” as a ‘gift’ for on-off boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel whilst on his own show – a performance which proved a Youtube smash and won her a Creative Arts Emmy. She’s also twice made Maxim‘s Hot 100 List – proof that hilarious can also be smoking hot. Silverman has talked openly about how she struggled with bedwetting during her childhood; we’d wet our beds just at the prospect of spending the night with her.
