2016 Olympics Announcement

Will Chicago come out on top in the 2016 Olympics decision?
The 2016 Olympics announcement is coming shortly before 1:00 EST on Friday, October 2nd, and PopCrunch will be here to tell you if Chicago manages to land the 2016 Summer games.
The final pool of cities includes Chicago, Rio de Janeiro, Madrid and Tokyo. The applicants will be eliminated one by one in rounds of secret International Olympic Committee balloting until just one city stands alone. The interesting pick is probably Rio de Janeiro, as South America has never hosted an Olympic games, but the United States really pulled out all the stops for Chicago, with high profile Americans like Oprah Winfrey and President Barack Obama visiting Copenhagen to help with Chicago’s Olympic pitch.
While Rio would be the newcomer, a Chicago Olympics would probably be the safest pick, as American Olympic games nearly always make money, and it would keep Olympic bankroller NBC happy since all events would occur at US television friendly hours. But then again so would Rio de Janeiro events. That’s why we here at Pop Crunch think it will come down to Rio or Chicago, with Madrid and Tokyo looking like long shots. But we’ll find out for sure tomorrow! Check back here for the 2016 Olympics announcement.
