how can you people say things like that? idol gives back is great, it gives people the chance of starting over. how many people dont do things to contribute to saving the earth and say oh well im just one person i wont make that much of a difference. yesterday, my friend dropped a bag on the floor outside and i yelled at them, he said its just one bag its not a big deal and i asked how many people he thinks say that and that it makes that much of a difference when we all say that, he is now out picking up all kinds of trash off the ground. if we all say oh well someones donating $10 somewhere then what if they really arent? we should all donate every year because one year we will all be selfish and no one will and its not fair to the people who dont have anything. if we all just give $10, every one of us then itll really help

I took calls for people donating to Idol Gives Back and it was one of my most rewarding experiences. The majority of the people calling in donated $25 or less and each one was proud to be giving. One donar was a child who gave from her piggy bank. People are so kind and giving and I’m sure they would do that again this year. I’m very disappointed with IDOL & FOX

That was a selfish move on Fox’s part; shame on them. An economic crisis is all the more reason people need the financial help. I hope the bring the event back next year.

I was so disappointed to hear Idol gives back was canceled. On one side maybe they were afraid that with the ecomony bad they would earn less money but who cares every bit counts, but on the other hand the money going toward in doing the show can be given to charities if they are smart enough to do so.

Shame on Idol! We have so much more then the rest of the world. If we can be watching American Idol, then we can give something, economic crisis or not! Just think if everyone who voted gave a buck what could be raised, and who gives only $1! Idol Gives Back needs to be a part of every season! No excuses!

I loved “Idol Gives Back” and seeing all the different stars contributing their talent.
2007 was the best. 2008 was about half as good.
I guess they gave up this year.
Bad economy or not, they still could have raised lots of money, and even had a great show too!

how selfish are we? no matter how bad our economy is at this moment we have so much more than they do. They need money for shoes, we “need” money for cable tv; they need money to eat, we “need” money for high speed internet. I think if theres money to do the Oscars, if there’s money for the Emmys, MTV awards and more, where celebrities get money and expensive gifts just to show their faces. There should money do American Idol gives back and actually GIVE BACK!

due to the economic crisis and I

One less reason to watch the screeching and off-key renditions of music that nobody wants to listen to anyway, by people with less talent than my drunk cousin Steve, the pornographer, At least he has the decency to not sing while the kids are still awake!
