2008 American Music Awards Nominees


Host Jimmy Kimmel and Dancing with the Stars hoffer Julianne Hough announced the nominees for the 2008 American Music Awards on Tuesday.
Alicia Keys, Coldplay, Eagles, Lil Wayne, and Chris Brown will battle it out for the title of Artist of the Year. Keys leads this year’s pack of nominees; the multiplatinum-selling pianist earned five nods for her 2008 LP As I Am.
The Jonas Brother, Pink, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Taylor Swift, the Pussycat Dolls, and New Kids on The Block are scheduled to perform at the 36th annual ceremony.
For the second year runnning, AMA winners will be determined by online voting at amavote.com, the official voting location (votes will be collected from October 14 to November 7).
Voting for the T-Mobile Breakthrough Artist Award begins November 10th and concludes during the American Music Awards on November 23rd.
The 2008 American Music Awards will broadcast on ABC live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on November 23.
