So Joey Lawrence has taken a cue from Patrick Stewart. Or maybe it’s Michael Chiklis. At any rate, the Woah-ster is now sans-hair. Every girl and probably a number of then-in teenage boys may remember his long, flowing hair. Well it’s no more.
This little promo proves that Lawrence is nothing if not resilient … especially after the whole “sitcom with his brothers” thing. In fact, the last time I remember seeing a Lawrence in a movie was Matthew in “The Hot Chick” … not that I saw that Rob Schneider vehicle, and especially not in theatres.
But it must be good – Joey rolls off three movie roles he’s been offered, all because he’s got a shorn scalp. For now, though, he’s on “Dancing with the Stars.” Could this mean a Blossom reunion? No, thankfully.

Hollywood is about making money. When a big star becomes more talked-about as a crazy person than a sex symbol, he makes a whole lot less money.
So it comes as no suprise that Paramount Pictures has severed ties with Tom Cruise, ending a 14-year relationship with Cruise’s production company. A Paramount rep cited “controversial conduct and behavior over the last year” as the reason for the decision.
Oh come ON. It has nothing to do with his behavior. It has to do with the fact that he doesn’t sell movies anymore, and that’s it. Plenty of movie stars are out drinking underage, having affairs, partying and openly using drugs… and still being treated like royalty by Paramount and companies like it.
I understand the reasoning. It’s a business. But let’s call it what it is and not pretend Paramount’s grown a conscience.

Since 2002, Oprah Winfrey, 52, has planned to build the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. Scheduled to be built on 52.7 acres of land south of Johannesburg, Winfrey personally told 73 girls, ages 11 and 12 who had been accepted to the school.
“I grew up with my Grandmother,” Winfrey said at Sunday’s event, “We had almost nothing, but my grandmother believed I had to give back what I received.”
In order to choose the girls that were accepted, Winfrey personally went through many of the 3,000 girls who applied, looking for girls from disadvantaged backgrounds who showed they had leadership abilities and intelligence.
“South Africa is like my second home and I want to give something here. I feel this project is blessed,” said Winfrey.
