Is there any sight more irksome than Ferris Bueller’s smug little face in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Matthew Broderick plays the title character as so self-satisfied with his privileged existence that it’s tempting to root for Principle Rooney. Great movie, but damn Broderick needed a slap.
