I am 65 with no tattoos or piercings, etc but I am and have always been in awe of individuals who use their bodies as canvases for art and use their lives to bend the rules that keep society gray and faceless. Hooray for counterculture heroes, even the scary looking ones…

i am a devoted catholic and have worked as a priest for 15 years now. i have 146 piercings and 14 tattoos but im at peace with the lord and myself. “TO BE OR NOT TO BE THAT IS THE QUESTION” jesus said this to moses because he wanted people to follow his of socially inept body modificator crew. I LOVE YO ALL. especially kids.

Oh and one more thing, this “where do people draw the line” question is also really fucking ignorant. People set their own standards as to what is enough and what isn’t. For people that accept body modification as their lifestyle, there is no line that we draw. We understand that people will look and stare and even make snide comments, but sometimes people are so fucking stupid and rude that we have to defend ourselves. Just like anybody else would. We don’t do what we do for shock value, or because our “daddys didn’t love us”. We do it because it’s what we think is beautiful. And there are a multitude of people that do it for even religious reasons. As far as most people go, these things are done in a sterile enviornment with sterile jewelry/tools. We don’t hang from “meat hooks”. They’re called suspensions and pulls, google it. Who are you to assume why people do what they do? Why do you color your hair? Why do you tan? Why do you work out? Huh? Is it because your parents didn’t love you? Is it because you want attention or do you do it for shock value? You all are a sad group of people.

You all are a bunch of MORONS. Not everyone likes the same thing that you do. People have their own minds. What you think is disgusting, other’s find beautiful. Why don’t you try to live a little and understand that the whole world is full of diverse people and different cultures. Nobody looks the same. So to the people that are saying things like “loser, freak, disgusting, ugly” and other such things, I truly feel sorry for you. Your ignorance is fucking pathetic. You are the losers for being so close minded. Oh and the “what about when you’re 60″ question gets really old, really fast. First of all, in this day and age, nearly EVERYONE is modified no matter how much or how little. Getting your ears pierced is modifying your body. Almost everyone has a tattoo or more these days. By the time I’m 60, there will be a whole bunch of little old tattooed and pierced ladies running around. OR maybe I won’t live to be 60, hahaha. Either way, stop judging people you don’t know. You’d be surprised to find that most heavily modified people are incredibly intelligent. Grow up.

i’m all for people expressing themselves in what ever way they see fit. but my question is this…what about in the future when these people are old and have to explain these mods to their grandchildren? what about when these people are in the nursing home and have to be taken care of (in every way) by nurses and orderlies? is this body what they’re gonna want people to see 60 years from now?

I would really like to know, where do these people work? And if they ever got fired or laid off? Where do they think they’ll get jobs besides a piericing/tattoo parlor and not all the people who have extensive mods can all work at tatto parlors.
