David Prowse, who provided the physical portrayal of Darth Vader, has always had a tough time with his role in Star Wars. The beefy bodybuilder was often marginalized by Lucas during the original trilogy: he was not told about Vader being Luke Skywalker's father in The Empire Strikes Back and was less than thrilled to find out the truth at the movie's first screening. He was also promised that he would play the helmetless Vader in Return of the Jedi, but the job eventually went to stage actor Sebastian Shaw (possibly because of Prowse leaking news of Vader's death in the final movie to the press). As of 2010, Prowse has been banned from attending fan conventions with no explanation other than the suggestion that he has been "annoying" Lucas. You'd think the Vader actor would pull a "you have failed me for the last time" force choke on the director for that one...
