5. Christopher Lambert
Christopher Lambert was always one of the more interesting 80s action stars. He played the lead in the original Highlander movies, of course, which may have had cheesy moments, but were much more intelligent than your typical Arnie/Stallone fare. Unlike many of his contemporary action stars, he was even capable of conveying something resembling emotion in his performances (his role as Connor MacLeod in Highlander especially). Sadly, in the early 90s he made the calamitous mistake of appearing in the sequel Highlander II: the Quickening, which is now widely regarded as one of the worst films ever released that doesn’t star Shia LaBeouf. His career, which had already been on a slow downward spiral, never recovered, and these days he’s lucky to get appearances in French TV movies.
